Israeli jets attack military site in northern Damascus

Israeli Air Force fighter jets carried out a missile strike on a military site in northern Damascus, Sham television noted, Report informs via TASS.

According to the report, the attack was followed by a strong explosion that was heard across Damascus and its surroundings. The targeted site, which belonged to Syria’s former armed forces, hosted a military research center that had been hit by Israel before.

According to Sham television, fire trucks and ambulances were dispatched to the affected area. Local authorities said there could be civilian casualties.

On March 13, Israeli jets attacked a neighborhood on the western outskirts of Damascus, wounding three civilians. The Israel Defense Forces said at the time that the air force had carried out a pinpoint strike on a Palestinian Islamic Jihad command center that was "used to plot terrorist attacks against Israel."
