Israel's Foreign Minister, Eli Cohen, announced that he has dismissed the country's consul general in New York, Asaf Zamir, who stated his intention to resign in protest against the judicial reforms in Israel, Report informs via TASS.
“Although he announced his resignation on Twitter, he wanted to stay on indefinitely. I decided to dismiss him immediately,” he said on Twitter.
The minister noted that a diplomat who chooses one of the political sides cannot represent the State of Israel.
