Israel gives last chance to prevent war with Lebanon

Israel has declared that the only way to prevent a devastating full-scale war with Lebanon is to force the Hezbollah movement to withdraw its forces from the region, Oren Marmorstein, the spokesman of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on X, according to Report.

The only way for the world to prevent a full-scale war that will be devastating for Lebanon is to compel Hezbollah to comply with UN Security Council Resolution 1701, Marmorstein wrote, emphasizing that these are the last minutes to do it diplomatically.

UN Security Council Resolution 1701 mandates the clearance of all armed formations, except for United Nations peacekeeping forces and units of the regular Lebanese army, from the area south of the Litani River.

Saturday's massacre signifies Hezbollah crossing all red lines, Marmonstein said, noting that this is not an army fighting another army; rather, it is a terrorist organization deliberately shooting at civilians.

He stated that Israel will exercise its right and obligation to act in self-defense and respond to the mass killing. Earlier, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz declared that Israel had seriously approached a full-scale war with Lebanon and Hezbollah. He emphasized that the rocket attack on the Golan Heights "crosses all red lines."
