Iraqi security forces lifted a nationwide curfew on August 30, the state news agency reported, after powerful Shi'ite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr called on his supporters to withdraw from the streets, Report informs citing Reuters.
Iraq's army declared a nationwide curfew from 20:00 Baku time on August 29 after supporters of radical cleric Moqtada Sadr stormed the Republican Palace in Baghdad's fortified Green Zone, leading to bloody clashes.
At least 30 people have been killed and hundreds wounded in the clashes.
