Iraq establishes 2 military bases on border with Türkiye

For the first time in a long while, Iraq established two military bases on the border with Türkiye, the Hürriyet newspaper said, citing sources, Report informs.
The process was carried out in coordination with Ankara.
“For the first time since the Gulf War, Iraq created two bases near our border. This decision was made in coordination with Türkiye. These bases were not created against Türkiye. On the contrary, they were created to protect their own borders with the logistical support of Türkiye,” writes the newspaper.
