Iraq bans activity of three PKK-affiliated parties

The Iraqi Supreme Court Council has banned the activities of three parties connected to the PKK terrorist organization and confiscated their property, Report informs via TRT Haber.
The decision was made following a request and complaint from the Iraqi National Security Council. The banned parties include the Yazidi Freedom and Democracy Party, the Democratic Struggle Front Party, and the Kurdistan Society’s Freedom Movement (Tevgera Azadi).
In addition to the ban, the property belonging to these organizations has been confiscated.
Notably, in March 2024, the Iraqi government declared the PKK a terrorist group and made it illegal.
