Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will pay a three-day visit to Uzbekistan, during which he will take part in a meeting of defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries, Report informs citing The Times of India.
Singh himself announced on Twitter a bilateral meeting with Uzbek defense minister, Lieutenant General Bakhodir Kurbanov. The Indian Defense Ministry also said that on the sidelines of the meeting, Singh was scheduled to meet with the defense ministers of "certain other SCO member countries" to discuss "bilateral issues and issues of mutual interest."
The SCO defense ministers' meeting is expected to discuss challenges to regional security, including in Ukraine and Afghanistan.
