India has received 17 batches of medical equipment and drugs to fight coronavirus from various countries since late April,
At least 14 states have participated in the provision of emergency assistance in the face of a sharp surge in India’s COVID-19 incidence.
The supplies included oxygen concentrators, medical oxygen cylinders, ventilators, bedside monitors, antiviral drugs, coronavirus express kits, pulse oximeters and personal protective equipment.
Among the countries that have provided assistance to India are the US, the UK, Singapore, the UAE, Ireland, Thailand, Germany, France, Uzbekistan and others. India uses military transport aircraft and seven naval ships to deliver medical assistance from overseas.
As the Health Ministry of India said on Tuesday, the country’s COVID tally has exceeded 20 million.
