India floods: Death toll exceeds 70

At least 73 people lost their lives since September 27 in the state of Bihar, located in the north-eastern part of India, due to flooding after heavy rains, Report informs citing the RIA Novosti. The disaster management department of this state noted that some people drowned, some died due to the fall of walls and trees. Along with this, electric wires got into the water, which also killed some local residents.

The authorities recorded the largest number of deaths in the area of the city of Bhagalpur, floods also covered the administrative center of the state of Bihar - locality of Patna.

Banks, shops and private hospitals did not work in a number of areas of this city for a week.
