Hundreds trapped in snow in Andes

On a mountain road in the Andes, hundreds of trucks and cars were blocked on the highway that leads from Argentina to Chile due to a snow storm, Report informs citing Telam.

About 500 people have already been evacuated from the Argentine side.

The border crossing has been closed due to bad weather since July 9, but a collision between two trucks on the Argentine side made it impossible to travel in the opposite direction. Only on Sunday the road workers could remove vehicles from the road and evacuate people.

Hundreds of cars are also blocked from the Chilean side. About 300 people have already been taken to the shelter at the Los Libertadores complex. They were warmed and fed.

According to the forecast, the snowstorm will last at least until the evening of July 11.
