A fire broke out in a hotel located in the South Korean city of Pucheon, claiming the lives of at least six people and leaving 11 others injured, according to Report, which cites the Yonhap news agency.
The blaze originated on the eighth floor of the nine-story building during the evening hours. Although the flames did not spread throughout the entire structure, authorities feared a rising death toll due to smoke inhalation. Some hotel guests sustained injuries during the evacuation process, as they jumped onto an inflatable air mattress with a pneumatic frame to escape the inferno.
To combat the fire, a substantial force of 150 firefighters and 46 specialized vehicles were deployed to the scene.
