Heavy downpours kill at least 18 in India

At least 18 people have died in different Indian states due to powerful downpours that hit the country's southwest, citing the India TV channel.
Heavy rain has disrupted life in the states of Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh. Floods have also been reported in the state of Karnataka. Due to heavy rainfall, the situation remains difficult in eastern Assam, where many areas are still flooded, and landslides occur.
Floods were also recorded in several districts of the Indian capital. Monsoons paralyzed traffic on the roads of New Delhi. Meteorologists predict more showers for at least the next day.
