Head of Polish president's office provided with gov't security

The head of the administration of Polish President Andrzej Duda, Marcin Mastalerek, has been provided with round-the-clock government security, Report informs via the Rzeczpospolita newspaper.

The security decision was made by the head of the country's interior minister.

“The threat is real,” a knowledgeable source told the newspaper.

The reason for what is happening is said to be the official’s statements, in particular, about the largest opposition party in the country, Law and Justice Party of Jaroslaw Kaczynski, which was in power in the republic from 2015 to 2023. In his public statements, Mastalerek advocated sending Kaczynski to retire, argued with the former defense minister, and criticized the opposition’s position regarding President Duda, whom, in his opinion, the party did not appreciate.
