Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov plans to visit Iran

The national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People’s Council Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has accepted the invitation of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to visit the Islamic Republic, Report informs referring to TASS.

Raisi invited Berdimuhamedov in his congratulatory message on the occasion of the Constitution Day and the State Flag Day of Turkmenistan, celebrated on May 18.

“I express my sincere gratitude for the congratulatory message and the invitation to pay a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran. I accept your invitation with great gratitude and I am convinced that the upcoming visit will be an important step towards strengthening friendship and multifaceted partnership between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Berdimuhamedov wrote in response.

Raisi expressed gratitude to the Chairman of the People’s Council for the firm position and will shown by Turkmenistan in the comprehensive expansion of cooperation between the two countries in international and bilateral formats. “Mainly in transit, in the water and energy sectors, an example of which is the recent increase in gas transit through the Islamic Republic of Iran. I look forward to your upcoming visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran in the near future, during which at a meeting in Tehran I hope to discuss various cooperation vectors in the political, economic and cultural spheres,” the Iranian president wrote.
