Germany to prepare 5,000 Ukrainian servicemen by spring

As part of the EUMAM Ukraine training mission, Germany would like to complete by the spring of 2023 the training of a full-fledged Ukrainian military brigade of 5,000 people, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in the Bundestag, Report informs referring to Interfax.
He noted that thanks to the fact that Germany transferred military equipment to its partner countries, they, in turn, were able to send about a hundred tanks from their arsenals to Ukraine, Die Zeit reports.
The chancellor also said that Ukraine received financial support sufficient to cover its needs by the end of the year. So, in addition to humanitarian and military support, Kyiv was allocated $20.7 billion, and in total this year it should receive financial support in the amount of $33.3 billion.
On October 17, the EU Foreign Affairs Council decided to create a EUMAM Ukraine mission to increase the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The program, designed so far for two years, includes the training of the Ukrainian military, as well as the coordination of the efforts of European states that support this training.
