The German defense concern Rheinmetall plans to deliver about 500 Panther tanks to European countries by 2030, Armin Papperger, head of Rheinmetall, said in an interview with Handelsblatt newspaper, Report informs.
According to Papperger, about a thousand of the 8,000 tanks will be replaced in Europe by 2030.
“Together with our new Panther tank, we want to provide at least half, that is, about 500 tanks,” he said.
According to him, the new Panther KF51 battle tanks, introduced in June, are in high demand.
