Germany's new defense minister takes oath

Germany's new Defense Minister Boris Pistorius took the oath in the Bundestag.
Report informs via foreign media that Pistorius' appointment followed the resignation of Christine Lambrecht, who has been criticized for the state of the material and technical base of the German Armed Forces.
Pistorius was born in 1960. From 2006 to 2013 he was the mayor of the city of Osnabrück. From 2013 he was the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lower Saxony.
Pistorius is a member of Germany's Social Democratic Party.
