Germany has reached a record-breaking share of nearly 60% renewable energy in its total energy production during the first quarter of 2024, according to the country's Federal Statistical Office.

According to Report, the share of energy derived from renewable sources in Germany has soared to an impressive 58.4% in Q1 2024, a significant increase from the 48.5% recorded in the same period last year.

The volume of green energy, which encompasses energy generated from wind, biomass (biogas), hydroelectric power plants, and photovoltaic installations, has witnessed an 11.6% growth compared to the first quarter of 2023.

It is worth noting that the global capacity for green energy has experienced a remarkable 50% growth, with China leading the charge. In 2023 alone, China installed as many solar photovoltaic systems as the entire world did in 2022.
