German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock spoke about the need for fundamental reform of the UN. In her view, the organization must become more equitable, inclusive and empowered, Report informs referring to Der Spiegel.
"A UN Security Council that still represents the world of the 20th century is no longer appropriate," she noted.
She added that only if the UN adapts to the realities of the 21st century can the organization become a place where “the world community will solve problems together.”
Germany also consistently advocates reform of the Security Council along with Brazil, India and Japan, she noted.
