Fuad Huseynaliyev: West uses Azerbaijani-Armenian relations for its own purposes

Western countries, including France, the United States and the EU are using the Azerbaijani-Armenian interaction and negotiations on normalization and signing a peace treaty to achieve their own goals in the region, Director of the Report News Agency Fuad Huseynaliyev said on the air of the CBC TV channel, commenting on the trilateral conference of the EU, USA and Armenia planned for early April.

According to Report, Huseynaliyev believes that had it not been for West's unilateral support for Yerevan, the peace treaty would have been signed long ago.

"There are serious forces in Armenia that oppose the peace treaty with Azerbaijan... Conferences of this kind do not contribute to the peace process, but on the contrary create senseless and dangerous illusions for certain Armenian circles," said the director of the news agency.

According to Huseynaliyev, the West intends to completely take Armenia out of the Russian control and gain a foothold there.

"However, Armenia should understand that the longer it delays signing a peace treaty, the worse it is for itself," he concluded.
