French president to mull archipelago restoration program in Mayotte

French President Emmanuel Macron has arrived in Mayotte for a five-day visit, Report informs via the BFMTV channel.
From Mayotte, he will connect via videoconference to a meeting of the Council of Ministers, where he will present a program for the restoration of the archipelago, which also includes an item on combating illegal immigration.
He will also discuss the issue of restoring Mayotte four months after the devastating cyclone Shido.
Hurricane Chido was the most powerful hurricane on the island in the last 90 years. As many as 31 people were reported dead and more than 1,400 injured. French insurers estimated the damage from the hurricane at €650–800 million.
