France revoked citizenship of activist for criticizing African policy, Zakharova says

France has stripped publicist Stellio Gilles Robert Capo Chichi, better known by his pseudonym Kemi Seba, of his citizenship. The reason? His outspoken criticism of French policy in Africa.

Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, brought this controversial decision to light in a recent Telegram post. She expressed disbelief at the French government's actions, stating, "For what sins did Paris simply take and deprive a well-known public figure of citizenship? You won't believe it - for criticizing France's policy in Africa."

Zakharova pointed out the irony of the situation, noting that even supporters of French President Emmanuel Macron would struggle to defend France's foreign policy in Africa.

Adding fuel to the fire, the French newspaper Le Figaro reportedly labeled the publicist as a "foreign agent."

Zakharova sarcastically remarked, "It's as if the 'hand of the Kremlin' was guiding the pen of the journalist who wrote this."
