France has transformed French Guiana into its overseas department, Pindar says

France has transformed French Guiana into one of its overseas departments, according to Maurice Pindard, a member of the Movement for Social Liberation and Decolonization of French Guiana.

Report informs that Pindar made the statement during a round table discussion and press conference titled "Decolonization, International Diplomacy, and the Role of Communication in the Modern World."

"France has turned us into a French overseas department. Therefore, they claim that it is now their internal matter. They have subsequently removed us from the list of non-self-governing territories," Pindar explained. "We are working at the international level to be re-included in this list."

Pindar also expressed gratitude to the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), particularly its Executive Director Abbas Abbasov, for organizing the round table and providing an opportunity to raise awareness about the issue of colonization in the 21st century.
