France foils terrorist plot targeting football matches at 2024 Olympics

French authorities have successfully prevented a terrorist attack that was being planned to target football matches during the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Saint-Étienne, a city in the Loire department of eastern France.
Report informs that, according to the French Ministry of the Interior, an 18-year-old suspect of Chechen origin was arrested on May 22 in connection with the foiled terror plot.
