Four people die in earthquake in northern Philippines

An earthquake of magnitude seven struck in the province of Abra on the island of Luzon in the northern Philippines, Report informs, citing Interfax.

Four people died and several dozen were injured. The earthquake caused landslides, destruction and damage to houses.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology does not rule out that after the main impact, echo shocks may occur in the near future.

The Philippines is located in the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire, where most of the world's earthquakes are recorded. In 1990, a magnitude 7.7 earthquake in the Philippines killed 2,000 people.
