Foreign airlines cancel flights to Somalia due to security situation

Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways and Fly Dubai have suspended flights to the international airport of the capital of Somalia, Report informs referring to TASS.
On April 8, the US Embassy in Somalia warned fellow citizens about the threat of terror attacks in various areas of Mogadishu, including the airport, and announced the cancellation of “all movements of embassy personnel” on April 9.
According to local media reports, the residence of the Somali president came under mortar fire last night. Three shells exploded near the palace. No data on consequences are provided. Military personnel in armored cars are patrolling the city streets, and additional checkpoints have been set up.
