Finnish PM hopes Turkiye will ratify her country's NATO membership bid

Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin expects Turkiye to agree to ratify her country’s NATO membership bid as soon as possible, Report informs citing TASS.

Marin made the remark before the start of an informal summit of heads of state and government of the EU countries on October 7, following a conversation with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

“Of course, we hope that Turkiye will ratify our membership application as soon as possible,” Marin said.

In early October, the Turkish leader announced that Turkiye would not ratify the entry of Sweden and Finland into NATO until these countries fulfill their promises to Ankara. One of the points is the revision of relations with the PKK, which is outlawed in Turkiye.
