Finland discovers new COVID-19 strain

A new variant of the coronavirus has been found in the Finnish laboratory Vita, Report informs, citing the laboratory's website.
The new strain, called Fin-796H, features COVID-19 variants found in both the UK and South Africa.
"In one variant, the mutation prevents the virus from being detected reliably by one of the methods recommended by the WHO," said Sakari Yokiranta, an associate professor of clinical microbiology.
