Expert: Iran challenges not only its people, but entire int’l community

Based on the events taking place in Iran, it is safe to conclude that this country is challenging not only its people, but the entire international community, Azerbaijani political scientist Tofig Abbasov told Report.

He said that Iran is actively taking advantage of the voids in the implementation of international law, which the world is currently facing.

“It is very sad that Iran is applying a one-sided policy in resolving many issues,” Abbasov added.

Speaking about violations of international law by Iran, the political scientist also touched upon Tehran’s supply of weapons to the warring country: “Iran is compensating for its economic losses caused by many years of sanctions by selling weapons. At the same time, Iran and Russia bear great responsibility for everything that is happening now in Ukraine.”

The expert believes that numerous sanctions against Iranian officials have not yet yielded any results.

“Although if Tehran continues to be intractable, it certainly will not end well,” Abbasov said.

“Iran is now in a state of international isolation, and it needs to cherish relations with those countries with which it still has connections as much as possible,” the political scientist concluded.
