European Prosecutor's Office investigates Slovakia's provision of military equipment to Ukraine

The European Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the fact of Slovakia providing military equipment to Ukraine during the period when Jaroslav Nad was the Minister of Defense, Report informs that Slovak MP Zuzana Plevikova said.

"The European Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation regarding the provision of military materials to Ukraine during the period when Jaroslav Nad was Slovakia's Minister of Defense. The investigation is being conducted on suspicion of criminal acts, including damage to the European Union's financial interests," she noted.

The MP stated that the European Prosecutor's Office is basing its investigation on the findings of Slovakia's Supreme Control Office, which previously analyzed the process of providing military equipment to Ukraine.

At the end of October 2024, the Supreme Control Office said that since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, the republic has provided Kyiv with military equipment worth approximately 700 million euros, and as a result, Slovakia itself was left without an air defense system.
