Members of the European Parliament have adopted a resolution in which they supported Romania’s demands for the return of Romanian gold and historical archives exported to Russia in 1916-1917, but the dialogue on this topic is planned to be resumed when the regional situation allows, Report informs referring to TASS.
The voting took place within the plenary session of the EP in Strasbourg.
It calls on the Commission and the European External Action Service to include the issue of the restitution of Romania’s national heritage in the bilateral diplomatic priorities governing relations between the EU and Russia, as soon as the regional situation allows the resumption of political dialogue between the parties.
