"I think it is important to send monitoring missions to the area to see what acts can be considered war crimes. Now we must unite. Because this is a very critical moment in European history," EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell told a meeting of NATO foreign ministers.
"We are witnessing a war on our borders these days. The war launched by President Vladimir Putin against Ukraine is completely groundless. This war causes serious losses and the deaths of civilians. Russia uses weapons strictly prohibited by the Geneva Convention. Now the transatlantic space must be more united than ever. We have adopted an unprecedented package of sanctions that will hurt the Russian economy. We support Ukraine's self-defense. We really appreciate the courage of the Ukrainian army, the people and the government."
