EU Council adopts series of measures in case of hard Brexit

London once again proposed to put Brexit conditions to the vote in Parliament.

The Council of EU countries agreed on a number of measures in the event of a hard Brexit, that is, the separation of Great Britain from the European Union without a ratified deal on the provisions of the process, Report informs citing Russian media. The purpose of these documents is to limit the serious damage that can be caused by erratic Brexit in certain sectors, the report says. These measures are temporary and limited in scope; they will not replace all the benefits of the country’s full membership in the union, the EU Council notes. In particular, these measures relate to fisheries, transport, the Erasmus + program.

In turn, the British Minister for Brexit Stephen Barclay proposed to re-submit to parliament an agreement on conditions for exit from the EU, despite the fact that House of Commons Speaker John Bercow had previously said that the government has no right to do this without making changes to the agreement.
