The European Union has blacklisted 52 more ships involved in shipping oil, arms and grain in its latest package targeting Russia, Report informs via TradeWinds.
The measures are included in a 15th package of sanctions and take the total of vessels designated by the 27-nation bloc to 79, said the Council of the EU.
It said the measures are aimed at addressing the circumvention of sanctions by targeting the shadow fleet and weakening Russia’s military and industrial complex.
“We will stand by the Ukrainian people on all fronts: humanitarian, economic, political, diplomatic and military. There can be no doubt that Ukraine will win.,” said EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas.
The sanctions list includes 54 individuals and 30 organizations from Russia, China, and the DPRK, including restrictions on the Russian shadow fleet, according to RBC-Ukraine.
Sanctions were also imposed against the Russian military involved in the attack on Okhmatdyt, the management of companies in the energy sector, and those responsible for deporting children, propaganda, and circumventing sanctions.
For the first time, full-fledged sanctions (travel ban, asset freeze, ban on providing economic resources - ed.) were imposed on various Chinese entities that supply drone components and microelectronic components to support Russia.
The list of vessels subject to the ban on access to ports and the ban on the provision of maritime transport-related services has been expanded, bringing the total number of vessels subject to sanctions to 79.
