EU ban on Russian coal imports enters into force

The European Union (EU) embargo on coal imports from Russia entered into force on August 1, Report informs, citing foreign press.
This ban was included in the fifth package of sanctions adopted in April of this year.
Until the relevant package was adopted, the EU countries imported coal worth $8 billion yearly from Russia.
