Erdogan: Türkiye ready to provide platform for dialogue on Sudan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held telephone conversations on Thursday with the Chairman of the Sovereign Council of Sudan (the governing body of the country) Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Deputy Head of the Sovereign Council of Sudan, leader of the Rapid Reaction Force (Special Forces) Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo (Hamidti), Report informs via Anadolu.

The topic of the two separate conversations was the latest developments in Sudan.

Erdogan recalled that Türkiye has sincerely supported the transition process in Sudan from the very beginning, and the events of recent days are striking the ongoing struggle of the Sudanese people since 2018, downplaying the significance of the achievements of the transition period.

Erdogan called on the conflicting parties to end the armed confrontation and fratricide.

The politician assured that Türkiye will continue to support the state and people of Sudan and is ready to provide a platform for dialogue as an intermediary.
