Erdogan: Türkiye discussing new grain corridor with Russia, Ukraine

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he is negotiating with the leaders of Russia and Ukraine on the restoration of the Black Sea grain agreements, but there are no results yet.

He was talking to journalists upon returning from the NATO summit held in the US, Report informs referring to Anadolu Agency.

“We propose to reopen the grain corridor and are now negotiating this with both Russia and Ukraine. We have not yet received any results on this issue. My last meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin was devoted to this. We discussed these issues with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the NATO summit. We want to work on the grain corridor and with the Ukrainian side. I hope that we will start using this corridor again,” Erdogan emphasized.

The Turkish leader also reminded that Türkiye “took fair steps within the Black Sea Grain Initiative” while it was in effect.

“We fulfilled the requirements of both Russia and Ukraine. We were talking about supplies to the West and Africa, and Türkiye would receive something," Erdogan said.
