Envoy: Azerbaijan-Ukraine relations based on mutual respect & trust

Ukraine sees in Azerbaijan a friendly country whose relations are based on mutual respect and trust in each other, Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan Vladyslav Kanevskyi said, Report informs.

“The first decade of February holds a special place in the history of bilateral relations between our states,” the diplomat reminded. “On February 8, 1919, diplomatic relations were established between the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. On February 6, 1992, Ukraine and Azerbaijan resumed their diplomatic relations and opened a new page in the development and strengthening of strategic partnership.

Ukraine has always considered and continues to consider Azerbaijan as a state with which we have close friendly relations based on mutual respect and trust in each other. This acquires special weight and significance in the current historical conditions, when our peoples once again had to defend sovereignty and restore the territorial integrity of their own state within internationally recognized borders with arms in hand,” the ambassador said.

“The common pain made us stronger and more confident. We will definitely win! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Azerbaijan!” summed up Vladyslav Kanevskyi.
