A massive fire at a battery manufacturing plant has claimed the lives of more than 20 people, with the possibility of foreigners among the victims. The tragic event unfolded on Monday at approximately 10:31 AM local time, at the ARICELL company's production facility located in Hwaseong, a city situated 50 kilometers southwest of the South Korean capital.

The third building of the factory, where the blaze originated, housed over 35,000 completed lithium batteries, fueling the intensity of the inferno. It took a staggering 4.5 hours to bring the flames under control. As the smoke cleared, the true extent of the tragedy began to emerge, with rescue teams discovering more than 20 bodies at the scene.
