Czechs are allowed to fight against Russia in Ukraine, Report informs, citing UNIAN.
"At the meeting with Milos Zeman, we agreed to go to Ukraine and guarantee that those who want to fight on the Ukrainian side will not be punished," Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala wrote on Twitter.
Volodymyr Zelensky said on March 3 that volunteers from 16 countries want to fight Russia in Ukraine.
Under Czech law, it is illegal to join foreign armed forces without an exemption from the president, who is the commander-in-chief of the Czech army. Violations are punishable by up to five years in prison.
