Czech PM: Europe is facing great historical test

Europe is undergoing a significant historical challenge, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala said, Report informs.

"Europe is facing a great historical test. It must take care of its own security and future. No one else will do it for us.

If we do not want an aggressive Russia to continue expanding just a few hundred kilometers from our homes, we must increase military support for Ukraine.

And if we want sustainable and long-term peace, we must arm ourselves properly. This will not be possible without increasing defense spending to at least 3% of GDP.

Anyone who claims otherwise is endangering the national security of the Czech Republic. And after yesterday, this is truer than ever before.

Our historical experience shows that if we do not increase our efforts quickly enough, allowing the aggressor to dictate the terms, we will not end well. This will guide me in tomorrow’s meeting in London," Petr Fiala said in a post on X.
