Cyanide poisoning claims six lives in Bangkok hotel room

Six people were found dead in a room at the prestigious Grand Hyatt Erawan hotel in central Bangkok on Tuesday. Investigators have confirmed that the cause of death was cyanide poisoning, adding a sinister twist to this tragic event.

According to Report, which cites the local newspaper Khaosod, police reports indicate that forensic experts discovered traces of cyanide in the victims' bloodstreams. The deadly poison was also found on the tea cups used by the deceased, painting a grim picture of their final moments.

Thiradej Thamsuthi, the head of the investigative unit, shared his insights with the press: "We are currently working under the assumption that one of the deceased poisoned the others before taking his own life." He noted that the room on the fifth floor was locked from the inside, with no evidence of anyone entering or leaving during the critical period.

"The case is likely related to outstanding debts. We have no other theories at this time," Thamsuthi stated. He emphasized that the perpetrator was among the six victims, ruling out the involvement of any external parties.

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin personally visited the crime scene and ordered a thorough investigation into the matter. Government spokesperson Chai Wacharong announced that relevant agencies have been instructed to take all necessary measures to ensure public safety and prevent any potential risks to human life and health.
