The confiscation of the assets of Russian oligarchs in the EU will take place on the basis of criminal charges for circumventing sanctions, European Commissioner for Justice, responsible for the rule of law and consumer protection Didier Reynders said December 9 upon his arrival at the meeting of the EU Council at the level of foreign ministers, Report informs referring to TASS.
“Ukraine will again become the main topic. I will provide ministers with information on the progress on the issue of sanctions, where we have a new development, as a result of which it will be possible to criminalize the circumvention of sanctions and, on this basis, receive court sentences and confiscate the assets of individuals and companies,” he said.
