Columbia University asks for presence of NYPD security guards on campus until mid-May

Minouche Shafik, the president of Columbia University of the US, sent a letter to the New York Police Department's deputy commissioner for legal matters on April 30, asking for the presence of security guards on campus through at least May 17, 2024, to maintain order and ensure encampments are not reestablished, Report informs, referring to the university’s website.
