City council member detained in Ukraine for espionage

A member of the Siversk city council of Ukraine's Donetsk Oblast has been detained, Report informs.
The man detained by the Security Service of Ukraine belongs to the Opposition Platform - For Life (OPFL) Party and his name is not disclosed due to the secrecy of the investigation.
He was reportedly found to be spying for the Russian General Intelligence Agency. According to information, the city council member passed strategic information to Russian intelligence.
During the war, several officials in Ukraine's elected and administrative bodies were detained for espionage and treason.
The OPFL party is banned in Ukraine.
