China calls on Ukraine and Russia to eliminate root causes of conflict

China supports holding peace talks between Ukraine and Russia and hopes to achieve a fair agreement, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said, Report informs via Interfax-Ukraine.

"We will maintain an objective and impartial position, insist on resolving differences through dialogue and negotiations, provide support to UN agencies in fulfilling their responsibilities, and create conditions for a political solution. China supports all efforts aimed at peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and hopes that the interested parties will eliminate the root causes of the conflict and reach a fair, lasting and binding peace agreement acceptable to all parties as soon as possible," Wang Yi said during a meeting of BRICS foreign ministers in Rio de Janeiro.
