Cardboard plant catches fire in Afghanistan, causing $10M in damage

A fire broke out at a cardboard manufacturing plant in Afghanistan's western Herat province, causing over $10 million in damage, a provincial official said Saturday, Report informs via Xinhua.
The fire occurred at around 5:00 pm on Friday in the cardboard factory in the province's industrial town of Herat city, said Hamidullah Khadim, the provincial head of the Chamber of Industry and Mines.
The incident has cost over $10 million in damage, while the total investment in this factory is $50 million, Khadim added.
The fire caused no casualties or injuries, and fire department personnel have been fighting to extinguish the blaze, the official said.
