Bulgaria and US kick off Thracian Summer - 2024 joint military exercises

The annual joint exercises between Bulgarian and American aviation units, dubbed "Thracian Summer - 2024," have commenced at the Krumovo Air Base in Bulgaria, according to Report, which cites TASS.

These collaborative drills, set to continue until August 29, involve forces from the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense and its subordinate structures, the Bulgarian Air Force, the US Special Operations Command Europe, and the US Air Forces in Europe.

According to the official statement, the primary objectives of "Thracian Summer - 2024" are to enhance the compatibility and operational capabilities of the military transport aviation crews and air defense units of the Bulgarian Air Force, as well as the special forces, in joint operations and international exercises.
