BRICS FMs to convene in New York at month’s end

The foreign ministers of the BRICS nations are set to meet in New York at the end of September during the UN General Assembly, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced at a press conference following discussions with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdel Ati, Report informs via TASS.

“We reviewed the preparations for the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan this October and the meeting of BRICS ministers in New York later this month during the UN General Assembly,” Lavrov stated.

He also noted that both parties believe Egypt’s accession to the BRICS union in January has greatly enhanced the partnership between the two countries.
