Borrel holds phone conversation with Iranian FM, condemns the execution of Swedish citizen

Josep Borrel, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, spoke by phone with Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Report informs.

"In call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abdollahian, I strongly condemned execution of Swedish-Iranian national Habib Chaab and asked Iran not to execute German-Iranian Jamshid Sharmahd.

"We also discussed Iran-IAEA cooperation, which gained momentum recently. I stressed that Iran must continue this, end support to Russia’s war against Ukraine, and stop instrumentalising EU nationals," Borrel said.
